Early Departures and Late Arrivals
Late Arrival to School
Tardiness has a negative impact not only on the tardy student’s education, but also on
that of his or her classmates. Students should make a point to arrive to class on time
and to be ready to participate.
If students arrive at school after the signal for class to begin, they must provide a note
from a parent or guardian explaining the tardiness and must sign-in in the office.
Administrative Associates will give the student an admittance form to enter class. On
the following day, students should show that form to any teacher whose class was
missed.
PLP Family Handbook 36
Early Departure
If students must leave school early, they should bring a note from a parent or guardian
explaining the reason for the departure. When it is time to leave school, the student
should show the note to the Academic Partner before taking the note to the office. The
student must then sign-out before leaving the building. (If a student leaves school for an
appointment, he or she must sign out and sign back in again when returning to
campus.) If a student gets sick during the school day and needs to leave school, the
student should go to the office and call a parent or guardian. Office staff will speak to
the parent or guardian before the student is allowed to sign-out.
