Pine Lake Preparatory Capital Campaign 2010
"Only those who can see the invisible can do the impossible" -Author Unknown
We hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to begin to learn more about the future of Pine Lake Preparatory in general, the Athletic and Community Center (ACC) in particular and especially, your role, our role, in making this future a reality.
We are all here because we have come to believe that our children have an extraordinary opportunity to be educated, from kindergarten through the twelfth grade, in a wonderful environment that is best summed up in our mission statement:
Pine Lake Preparatory prepares individuals in a nurturing environment for leadership and academic success within the kaleidoscope of an engaging community.
A couple of phrases stand out to me in this statement. The first is nurturing environment- “to give tender care and protection to a young child…to encourage somebody to grow, develop, thrive and be successful. This is without question what we all feel and see every day we come onto our campus. The second is kaleidoscope of an engaging community- a complex, colorful and shifting pattern or scene; charming or pleasing in a way that attracts and holds the attention. This reflects our embracing of the dynamic nature of this special environment and our eagerness to work together to create the very best learning environment for our children.
If Pine Lake Preparatory is to fulfill its mission, if it is to become one of the premier K-12 schools in this country (which we all think it can be), then we all have a role to play. Not just students and their academic partners, but parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors and other supporters all have important contributions to make.
As we have embarked on this effort to raise the funds required to provide our children with a first class athletic facility I have been asked numerous times Isn't this a bad time to be trying to raise money? My answer is always the same Of course it is! But more importantly, if we don't do it now, when are we doing to do it? My child is another half year older than when I started working on this effort and I see no signs that he is going to stop growing while we wait for the economy to improve!
I have had the opportunity to speak with dozens and dozens of parents about our efforts and along the way I have received several suggestions that we seek large contributions from faraway charitable foundations to pay for the ACC. The idea has been that someone else will provide the funds we need. My answer to that is, if we are not willing to invest in our children's future, why do we think anyone else will? It is simply not going to happen.
Please consider these two questions very carefully as you review the information in this website.
If not now, then when?
If not us, then who?
We are all very fortunate to belong to this special community school and together we will take the first step forward to create our future.
