This week, our donor spotlight focuses on the Thomas family. This family has quickly grown to appreciate the Pine Lake Preparatory community since entering the school two years ago. "...We love how we are greeted each day with a smile from the APs as we drop off our daughter, something that would not occur if she took a bus."
In addition, the Thomas family likes that teachers have consistently offered opportunities for parents to be part of their children's education. "Whether it is participating in a classroom activity, using the online Advanced Reading and Math programs at home or volunteering with the Capital Campaign after hours, we are part of her total educational experience at Pine Lake Preparatory and are ensuring a successful future for her and the school."
Soon, this family will be sending two children to PLP. When asked why they felt this athletic and community center would enhance the education of their children, they explained that it is important to have a facility that protects them from the elements and allows the students to enjoy P.E. "Sports provide numerous opportunities for children and to grow socially, emotionally, and physically. While P.E. and after school programs exist, not having a facility on campus makes it hard on the children and the parents. It breaks my heart to see them playing ball in a dusty field or running the pavement in the cold".
The Thomas family encourages other parents to seek information about Charter schools and the capital campaign. "Once we did this, there was no question in our minds that we would support these projects now and in the future."
Please join the Thomas family other PLP community members as we make the ACC a reality. Email capitalcampaign@pinelakeprep.org to learn more.
