Middle School Science Teacher

Pine Lake Preparatory is currently seeking an eighth grade Science Teacher to begin in the 2018-2019 school year.  This teacher should be motivated, dynamic, organized and have the ability to work in diverse teams.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
Provide high quality Science instruction to assist students in reaching their full academic potential
Plan, prepare and deliver appropriate lessons using a variety of presentation methods to keep students engaged 
Maintain records and communicate students' progress and development
Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes good behavior and adheres to PLP's Code of Conduct 
The candidate will be required to uphold standards set by the NC Department of Public Instruction. Desirable applicants will hold a Bachelor's degree and demonstrate passing score on PRAXIS exams.

Training and Support Specialist

Pine Lake Prep is seeking an energetic and highly self-motivated Training and Support Specialist.  This position will train and support our end users, including teachers, K-12 students and parents on a range of technologies from websites to phones.   
Job Responsibilities:
Training staff, students, and parents on various technologies used by the school
Conduct training in one-on-one, small and large group sessions
Work with teachers in the classroom use new technology with students
Be the primary point of contact and support for teachers, students and parents regarding our Learning Management Solution, Canvas LMS 
Track and manage all support tickets ensuring they are assigned to the proper person and resolved in a timely manner
Be our first line of technical support and troubleshoot technical difficulties with all technologies deployed in the classroom.  This includes, but certainly not limited to IP phones, projectors, printers, iPads, Macbooks, iOS and Mac applications
The ideal candidate will stand out in a few key areas:
Have excellent people skills 
The ability to communicate technical topics to a wide range of audiences and have the patience and understanding that not everyone grasps technology easily
Proven interest in and desire to learn about technology on their own.  This will include projects outside of work.  
This position will work directly with students and will require a thorough background check. Additionally, second round interviews will require short presentations to demonstrate training skills.
Working hours for this position are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The salary range for this position is $30,000 to $35,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Pine Lake Prep also offers a well-rounded benefits package.

Lower School Counselor 

Pine Lake Preparatory is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated full-time Lower School Counselor to start in the 2018-2019 school year. Utilizing leadership, advocacy and collaboration, the Lower School Counselor will promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

·         Work with school administrators to develop and manage a comprehensive school counseling program, including a written plan for effective delivery based on the NC Comprehensive School Counseling Standard Course of Study and individual school data.

·         Communicate the goals of the counseling program to all stakeholders: Board of Directors, Administrators, Teachers, Parents, Students and community/business leaders.

·         Maintain current and appropriate resources for all stakeholders.

·         Use majority of time providing direct services through Guidance Curriculum, Individual Student Planning and Preventive and Responsive Services.

·         Use data to develop comprehensive programs that meet student needs.

·         Administer all aspects of the K-12 financial assistance program.

·         Work with students and staff in Safety Patrol, Student Council, monthly student recognition, community contacts, etc.

·         Conduct yearly program audit to review program implementation and effectiveness.

·         Collect and analyze data to guide program direction and emphasis.

·         Measure results of program activities and share results as appropriate with relevant stakeholders.

·         Monitor student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and facilitate appropriate interventions.

·         Other duties as assigned

Exceptional Child (EC) Teachers Needed – Middle School


Pine Lake Preparatory is currently seeking an Exceptional Children’s (EC) Teacher. The EC Teacher should be motivated, flexible, and have the ability to work in diverse teams, as well as with students with a variety of educational needs. The EC Teacher will work in both an inclusion and resource setting.  Responsibilities include but not limited to:

·         Create a safe and welcoming classroom climate and a community based on respect

·         Supervise students in all situations, ensuring emotional and physical safety

·         Follow all state and federal policies and procedures for the provision of Exceptional Children’s services (including referral, eligibility and services)

·         Develop and implement an Individual Educational Program(IEP) for each assigned child

·         Schedule IEP meetings in a timely manner with the parents and IEP team members

·         Complete all paperwork assigned in a timely manner and following federal timelines as required

·         Attend all meetings for assigned students and new referrals to caseload

·         Collect student data to measure and report progress

·         Collaborate with general education staff to ensure the implementation of IEPs in the general education classroom, monitor student progress, and plan for classroom accommodations/modifications and resource lessons

·         Work with general education teachers, team leaders, associates, behavioral specialists, and parents to address student behavior and develop interventions as needed

·         Inform EC Director of any concerns, issues or potential issues with EC

·         Attend faculty, team and leadership meetings

·         Perform non-instructional duties to maintain the safety of students

·         Maintain current license and pursue professional development opportunities
