2018 Open Positions

 

Two Middle School Science Teachers

Pine Lake Preparatory is currently seeking two full-time Science teachers for the 2018-2019 school year.  These positions are in sixth and seventh grade Science.  These teachers should be motivated, dynamic, organized and have the ability to work in diverse teams.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide high quality Science instruction to assist students in reaching their full academic potential
  • Plan, prepare and deliver appropriate lessons using a variety of presentation methods to keep students engaged
  • Maintain records and communicate students' progress and development
  • Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes good behavior and adheres to PLP's Code of Conduct

The candidate will be required to uphold standards set by the NC Department of Public Instruction. Desirable applicants will hold a Bachelor's degree and demonstrate passing score on PRAXIS exams.

Lower School Teacher

 

Pine Lake Preparatory is currently seeking a full-time Lower School Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. The Lower School Teacher should be motivated, dynamic, organized and have the ability to work in diverse teams.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

·  Provide high quality instruction to assist students in reaching their full academic potential

 

·  Plan, prepare and deliver appropriate lessons using a variety of presentation methods to keep students engaged

 

·  Maintain records and communicate students' progress and development

 

·  Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes good behavior and adheres to PLP's Code of Conduct

Exceptional Child (EC) Associate (Assistant)

 

Pine Lake Preparatory is currently seeking an Exceptional Children’s (EC) Associate in the Lower School for the 2018-2019 school year. The EC Associate should be motivated, flexible, and have the ability to work in diverse teams, as well as with students with a variety of educational needs. The EC Associate will primarily work one-on-one with a student, in both an inclusion and resource setting.  Responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

·         Provide close student supervision and maintain student safety in all school in all school settings and activities

 

·         Maintain confidentiality of all student information

 

·         Interact with students in an age-appropriate manner that demonstrates an appropriate understanding of the student’s individual needs, abilities and disabilities

 

·         Carry out all physical care routines for students as indicated on the Health Plans and/or Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including but not limited to personal hygiene

 

·         Assist students with daily living skills (i.e. toileting, feeding, cleanliness, etc.)

 

·         Assist in the organization and implementation of all school related activities

 

·         Set up and use assistive technology and augmentative communication devices to assist students with school related activities

 

·         Demonstrate a basic level of computer proficiency needed to assist classroom teacher and students

Upper School Science Teachers

 

Pine Lake Prep, a North Carolina A+ rated school, is seeking engaging and qualified Upper School Science Teachers (grades 9-12) for the 2018-2019 school year, who possess a diverse skillset that will continue to strengthen our science program.  Ideal candidates will be innovative, creative and student centered, encouraging students’ critical thinking skills through the use of project and problem-based teaching techniques.

     Essential functions of teaching positions include:

 

  • Designing instruction appropriate for all students that reflects understanding of relevant content and is based on continuous and appropriate assessment.

  • Promoting student learning by providing responsive instruction that makes use of effective communication techniques, instructional strategies that actively engage students in the learning process, and timely, high-qualify feedback.
  • Fulfilling professional roles and responsibilities, and adhering to legal and ethical requirements of the profession.
  • Understanding the central concepts, tools of inquiry and structures of the discipline, making subject matter meaningful to students.

 

Candidates must hold a B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching, and NC Certification in teaching in the appropriate subject area.

  • Promoting student learning by providing responsive instruction that makes use of effective communication techniques, instructional strategies that actively engage students in the learning process, and timely, high-qualify feedback.
