Email email@example.com with the changes.

We applied last year but were not accepted, does applying multiple years give us an advantage?
No, per state law you must apply every year for the appropriate grade.
I have two children; if one gets an offer does the other child get in as well?
No, each grade has a wait list. When a seat becomes available, an offer is made in the order of wait list numbers in that grade.
My child is currently a student at Pine Lake Preparatory. Does this mean their sibling will have a place at PLP next year?
No. Siblings must submit a sibling application and the Sibling Lottery determines the order in which offers will be extended to siblings based on space available in each grade. To apply to the Sibling Lottery, visit www.pinelakeprep.org between November 1 and January 31. Be sure you use the sibling application and not the general application.
My child has been offered a space at Pine Lake Preparatory. Does this mean their sibling will have a place at PLP this year also?
No. Siblings will maintain their wait list number for the academic year. The following year siblings must submit a sibling application. The sibling lottery determines the order in which offers will be extended to the siblings based on space available.
After the lottery, how do I find out my child’s number?
Pine Lake will mail letters to the applicants with their wait list number or an offer of enrollment within a week of the lottery. When you apply, PLEASE create a personal ID code and this code will be published on a PDF posted on our website with wait list numbers on the Monday after the lottery.
Who is a sibling?
Foster children are not considered siblings for the purposes of enrollment preference. To qualify for preference, there must be a legal relationship with the sibling (i.e. adoption). With blended families, the same question of sibling status arises, and the determination is a bit more difficult. Marriage and/or adoption would clearly grant sibling status; however, the school must also consider biological ties through step or half siblings. Conversely, if an individual with children has a live-in partner with children from another relationship, those would not count as siblings because they do not share a biological parent.
Is there a website where I can read more about NC Charter school law regarding enrollment? http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/PDF/ByArticle/Chapter_115c/Article_14A.pdf
Do I need to re-apply for my currently enrolled children?
You do not need to re-apply; however, we will have re-enrollment in January. This is a simple form where you state whether or not your child will be returning.
Currently enrolled families should notify Jamie Connotillo at Jamie.firstname.lastname@example.org or Registrar@pinelakeprep.org as soon as the family decides to withdraw or move out of the PLP community. Wait listed families (especially siblings) are eager to receive an offer to attend. Please release your spot as soon as you know you are moving! How old does my child have to be to enroll in Kindergarten? The child must turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2020.
