We moved to Pine Lake in August of 2015 after teaching in the Baltimore area for nine years. Even though we had moved down to the area in order to live on a farm, we didn't make that happen until this past summer. When I'm not teaching English or mowing the acres, I enjoy playing board games, building things, reading, and Xbox. More writing, more reading!

I have been teaching strings for 14 years, in both the private studio and public school settings. I believe that music education is a core part of a balanced school curriculum, and that even the youngest of musicians can play an instrument with artistry. When I am not teaching or conducting, I freelance as a cellist throughout the greater Charlotte area and spend time with my husband and children.

I am a Boone, NC native and attended Appalachian State. I am primarily a clarinetist and woodwind specialist, but have passion for teaching all wind and percussion instruments.  This is my first year teaching at Pine Lake.  I live in the University area of Charlotte with my husband, Nathan, who is also a teacher, and our two dogs, Mia and Mollie.

Before joining Pine Lake I spent over 15 years in the retail industry. I worked in the buying office for Belk Department Stores and Rack Room Shoes. I currently serve as the Development Director for Pine Lake. I have a passion for fundraising and am dedicated to building a culture of giving at Pine Lake. When I am not at Pine Lake I enjoy spending time with my family watching college football, vacationing at the beach and I am huge Disney fan!

I am in my 17th year teaching. My first 8 years were spent at Manual and Pike HS in Indianapolis. While in North Carolina I have taught at Hopewell HS and this is my 4th year at Pine Lake. I am also the Head Men's Basketball Coach. I believe in providing opportunities for every student to be successful.

Prior to joining Pine Lake Preparatory in 2016, I spent the majority of my professional career working in higher education for a variety of both public and private universities. As a former admissions officer and Director of Admission, she enjoys working with students through the college search and application process. In particular, Mrs. Dworsky is incredibly passionate about working with first generation college students and helping students to find the right academic, social and financial fit for college.

Originally from Oxford, Michigan, I have been at PLP since 2011 and coach mens varsity soccer and tennis. My wife Mallory and I reside in Huntersville with our two furbabies Bentley and June. I have taught Spanish, Engineering, Physical Science, and Social Studies. I have been awarded Conference Coach of the Year seven times between both sports, soccer Regional Coach of the Year twice, taken tennis to three straight State Championships, and PLP Coach of the Year two times.
