Funding for competitions is a major part of our annual planning and operations for Team SPORK. Generally, a team needs about $40,000 to $50,000 a year for travel, competition costs, and robot construction, with an extra cost of about $30,000 if they make it to the World championship in Houston, Texas.

 

Team SPORK students will spend an intense 6 weeks working every night and weekend to construct a robot that can obtain the highest score. From this experience, the students learn to work collaboratively, experience real-world application of classroom curriculum, and develop invaluable problem-solving skills.
