Interested in Becoming a Substitute Teacher with Pine Lake Preparatory?2025- 2026 School Year 

 

Substitute teachers play a crucial role at Pine Lake Preparatory. When teachers are absent due to illness, bereavement, professional development, or personal matters, reliable and effective substitutes ensure the continuity of classroom instruction and student engagement. Serving as a substitute teacher at PLP offers opportunities to enhance teaching skills, become familiar with the school's community, and potentially transition into professional teaching positions, especially for those holding a valid North Carolina teaching license. 

 

 How to Apply

The following steps should be completed (in order) by candidates wishing to substitute teach at Pine Lake Preparatory. 

 

Step 1. Review the Pine Lake Preparatory Substitute Handbook. The handbook is currently available at PineLakePrep.org – under employment opportunities.

 

Step 2. Attend one of the Substitute Training Workshops offered. Please note – both new and returning substitute teachers must attend a training workshop each year. Reserve sign up here. The beginning of the year the trainings will be for the 2025 - 26 school year will be;

 

• New Subs - August 6th at 10:00am and 3:30pm in the Middle School
• Returning Subs - August 6th at 9:00am and 2:30pm in the Middle School

 

Step 3. Complete the Pine Lake Preparatory Employment Eligibility Packet. Packets will be emailed after you attend the substitute training via DocuSign.

 

After completing steps 1-3 you will be formally added to the list of active substitute teachers within the Frontline system. Please note - Substitute teaching assignments are subject to availability and no one is guaranteed an assignment, even after the application selection process is complete.
