I believe that all students want to learn and are capable of much more than they believe. Through the relationships developed between the teachers, students, and parents we can assist all students to become successful now and in the future. The students we teach today must be prepared to be the leaders of tomorrow. I am honored to have the opportunity to be one of the influences toward making this a reality.
Middle School can be some of the hardest years a student will experience. I enjoy helping our students get through these years. A positive environment is so important and it is my goal to be a positive influence to our students. I am also a mom of two (almost grown) children. My oldest is in college and my youngest will graduate from high school this year! I will soon be an "empty nester" and am thankful to have the PLP middle school students to interact with.
I am originally from Syracuse, New York (GO ORANGE!) and moved to NC a few weeks after graduating from college. I have taught in CMS and ISS before coming to Pine Lake, and love being part of the PRIDE! Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family and rooting on my favorite sports teams.
I am a Boone, NC native and attended Appalachian State. I am primarily a clarinetist and woodwind specialist, but have passion for teaching all wind and percussion instruments. This is my first year teaching at Pine Lake. I live in the University area of Charlotte with my husband, Nathan, who is also a teacher, and our two dogs, Mia and Mollie.

If we are going to continue to learn and grow we will also continue to fail. This does not mean we are a failure, it just means we need to try again. Each experience teaches us something.
