Welcome to a New School Year!

This year marks my third as Middle School Principal and let me tell you, it just keeps getting better. I’m genuinely honored to serve in this role, and every day I feel a deep sense of gratitude to be part of such a vibrant, curious, and passionate community. I’m proud of our school. Proud of our wildly talented teachers and dedicated staff. Inspired daily by our students. And continually amazed by the support and heart of our families.

Middle School is… well, its own unique island full of discovery, growth, occasional chaos, and plenty of laughter. It’s a time when students are learning algebra and empathy, exploring Shakespeare and self-identity. We’re asking them not just to think deeply, but to become deeply thoughtful humans. And yes, the phrase “formative years” absolutely earns its reputation here. I want our students to feel like school is not just a place they go but a place they belong. A place where they’re excited to show up, and years from now, will look back on with big smiles and warm memories.

Now, a fun fact: Did you know that lions are the only species of cats that roar together?

That’s exactly the spirit behind our school wide theme: “Together We Roar!”

This isn’t just a catchy slogan it’s a rallying cry that reflects the PRIDE values we live by:

Perseverance - Respect - Integrity - Drive to Excellence and Empathy

It’s also a powerful reminder of our connectedness as a community. Whether we’re tackling a tough project, helping a friend, or celebrating a win, big or small, we’re doing it together. That’s what makes this place more than just a school. It makes us a team. A pride. (pun intended)

So don’t be surprised if you hear “Together We Roar” more than a few times this year. In fact, I invite you to try it out at home! Whether your child nails a math test, shows kindness to a sibling, or simply gets out the door on time, give them a little “Together We Roar!”.

My door (and inbox) is always open. I welcome your ideas, your feedback, and your partnership. I hold high expectations for myself, for our team, and for our students. And I believe that with collaboration, heart, and a bit of good humor, this could be our best year yet.

Kindly,

- Lori Reuter, Middle School Principal

We offer an abundance of clubs to fit the kids' different personalities. So if you have somebody that is really driven by academics, we have Math Counts, or we have aquaponics, where they learn how to grow plants and help feed the fish at the same time. Or we have board game clubs. Maybe they just want to come during lunch and sit and play Uno or monopoly and and make new friends. We really offer a bunch of different programs beyond academics to help develop social skills and just help kids find themselves in middle school.
