Upper School

Preparing students for college, career, and purposeful lives, through distinctive college transcripts, rich with rigor and broad experiences.

Welcome to the Upper School

Pine Lake Preparatory Upper School students have the opportunity to demonstrate depth and breadth in college transcripts; whether through up to seven years of Orchestra; four years of high school Engineering, culminating in a Capstone project; or traditional Visual Arts or Animation. We are "right sized" for involvement, as we are large enough to offer nearly 20 varsity sports, and a wide variety of extracurriculars; but small enough for students to be able to offer meaningful contributions to clubs and activities, developing leadership and communication skills along the way. Equally important are relationships with teachers who support students from freshman English to AP Literature. Their English teachers know the students they are assisting with college essays, and students graduate knowing themselves, and their interests and capabilities.

PLP has been stellar in helping students explore their interests to the fullest. The school offers a myriad of clubs for students to join and is very receptive to starting a new one if students have interest: I've had the chance to join and lead DECA, Mock Trial, and Model UN. My freshman and sophomore year, I formed our Speech and Debate and Quiz Bowl teams. From helping us practice and spreading the word about the clubs to advising, coaching, and supporting us at tournaments, the community that staff and administration provide us with is truly unique. I'm truly grateful that both in and outside of the classroom, PLP has created an environment that allows us, as students, to thrive.
